ABOUT JED
I remember vividly when my maternal grandfather (“Abba”) died. He was a career attorney, father of four, serial jokester, World War II veteran, and so many other things. After suffering a stroke, he spent his last years in an assisted living facility near our house. I used to visit him regularly, not only to exercise my newly acquired right to drive, but also to enjoy time with one of the most likeable, kind, hilarious people I’ve ever met.
It is a great fortune to get to know your grandparents when you are not merely a child, but a teenager. When Abba died, I had countless memories to cherish. As we were crafting his obituary, one point stood out to me: That he dedicated significant time to pro bono work — free or reduced legal work for community members who could not afford “market” fees.
It was at that moment that I determined to prioritize service to the community in my career. Ever since, I have sought to address some of the most pressing needs of the day, and this has led to some fascinating experiences throughout the nation and the world. To see more, please check out my Experiences tabs. In the meantime: Please know that some of my interests include Mel Brooks comedy and Sam Cooke music. I’ve mentioned them in every resume I’ve ever written, so am obligated to mention them here as well. (After all, it’s in the script!)
